CELEBRATING A DECADE OF PARTNERSHIP AT LEEDS PLAYHOUSE

On Friday 1^st December Leeds Playhouse and Caddick Group hosted a pre-show reception, ahead of the press night for James Brining’s Oliver! The event marked a decade of collaboration between the two institutions, stemming from a shared vision to anchor culture at the heart of the regeneration of the Quarry Hill area.

From an initial sponsorship of Leeds Playhouse’s 2014 festive production, White Christmas, Caddick Group and Moda have remained capital partners throughout the Playhouse’s extension and refurbishment (2018 -20) and the construction of the new SOYO Leeds neighborhood (2019 – ongoing), the final phase of which has recently received planning permission from Leeds City Council.

Light Nights 2023

Returning to SOYO, Leeds this October – Experience Art in the Dark!

The UK’s largest annual arts and light festival returns to Leeds on 12th and 13th October 2023.

Following on from last year – SOYO,Leeds will be taking part in the event, transforming some of our indoor and outdoor spaces.

We’re inviting people to visit SOYO and the City of Leeds to discover the free arts event and see the city in a new light.

From large-scale light projections and interactive installations, to music, dance and street performances, there is always something for everyone

Leeds bear hunt

Join us this summer at SOYO, Leeds as part of Leeds Bear Trail 2023.

Leeds Hospitals Charity presents Leeds Bear Hunt – a large-scale public art trail set to splosh its way across Leeds for 10 weeks from the 1 July 2023.

Decorated by local, national and international artists, designers and illustrators, 35 giant Bear sculptures hide in plain sight on the streets of Leeds.

The Bears have formed a family-friendly trail of discovery, bringing Michael Rosen’s iconic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt story to life, and taking visitors and local people on adventures around the city and surrounding open spaces.

Designed to celebrate the vibrancy, culture and creativity of Leeds, and to raise money for Leeds Children’s Hospital, the trail will be deeply rooted in the local community.

Located at SOYO – you can find both the ‘I Wish I’d been a Rhinos’ bear along with ‘Frankie Bear’ designed by our resident artist EV Hardaker. 

Leeds Pride 2023

Join the SOYO neighbourhood in celebrating Leeds Pride 2023 as we hit the streets of Leeds and take part in the parade along with our neighbours – including the brilliant Northern Ballet dancers!

We would like to invite all of those taking part in our SOYO floats, to the Pre-Parade-Partay! We’ll be meeting at Moda, New York Square at 10am, where you will receive your very own pride t-shirt, have your make-up done, eat brunch and vibe with DJ’s spinning the decks – before heading up to Millennium Square to join the parade!
