Moda gets the green light for SOYO apartments

Detailed planning permission has been granted for SOYO’s first phase – New York Square – which will be delivered by Moda – leading operators of private rented apartments across the UK.

Construction work will start later this year on the brand new 515 one, two and three bedroom apartments and the new blocks will form part of the wider SOYO plan, alongside public green spaces, a new hotel, bars, restaurants and co-working spaces. Once completed, the apartments will also be managed by Moda – operating a 24hour concierge, round the clock maintenance and a range of amenities like Leeds has never seen before.

Named New York Square after nearby New York Road, the development will also include a range of on-site shared facilities, including a cycle café, communal lounges, roof terraces and a fitness centre. Moda is based on the way renters in the US live, where professionally managed rental buildings with multiple amenities – known as ‘multifamily’ housing – have been around for decades. Long term, yet flexible, family friendly leases of up to five years will also be available for renters to enjoy the same security that tenure homeowners have.

Moda also has high-profile city centre projects underway in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester. To find out more, click here.
